8HP Transmission Fill Port Adapter Tool

This billet aluminum adapter tool makes filling your 8HP transmission easy! 

To use:

1) With vehicle safely raised, transmission level, engine running, and transmission at operating temperature

2) Remove factory transmission fill plug, screw this adapter in place of the fill plug

3) Attach fluid pump hose to adapter to fill until fluid drains back out of leak holes indicating that fluid level is full.  May take several quarts of fluid to achieve. 

4) Remove hose and adapter.  Re-install factory fill plug.

• For temporary use only, original fill plug must be re-installed once fluid level is full

• Designed for use with Performance Tool Fluid Pump W1139 or any fluid pump, bottle, etc. that you can fill the fluid with 5/16" hose

Here is the process if using a new transmission or rebuild. Fill the torque converter then install converter onto the transmission (typically there is around .06-.1" gap from bellhousing to torque converter when the converter is fully installed. The converter is inboard of the bellhousing. Next install the transmission and fill the transmission with the engine off. Now start the engine and with foot on the brakes, run the transmission through reverse and drive. Refill the transmission, the run the engine and bring the transmission temperature to over 100°F degrees and refill the transmission. Put the fill plug back in the transmission and run the transmission through the gears and refill one more time just to verify.
